Australian Rules football is the most popular spectator sport in Australia. With 18 teams based all over the country, this ferociously athletic game features soaring marks, bone-crunching tackles, precision kicking and some of the fiercest rivalries, both on and off the field, found in any sport. The pace, skill and robustness of the game makes it hard for even a first time viewer to not get caught up in the spectacle. The season culminates each year with the Grand Final held on the last Saturday of September when 100,000 spectators pack the MCG to see who will hold the Premiership Cup aloft.
